Julia Nolan , 95, died Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough. Born in Papa, Hungary, Julia immigrated to the United States in 1928. She resided in Astoria, Queens and than Lake Hopatcong, N.J. before moving to Bridgewater in 1997. Mrs. Nolan worked as a seamstress for 47 years in the garment district in New York City until retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Int'l Ladies Garment Workers Union, Local 022 and was an active bowler until she was 84 years old. She enjoyed crocheting and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Julia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ernest Nolan in 1988 and her two brothers, Joseph Willmann in 1961 and Jim Willmann in 2003. Surviving are her loving son, Ernest Nolan, Jr. and wife, Margaret, of Neshanic Station; her cherished grandchildren, Erik Nolan and wife, Elizabeth and Kari Young and husband, Matthew; five great-grandchildren, Reece, Cole, Ashlyn, Ella and Mia; one niece, Brenda Gerlipp, of Branchburg and two nephews, Jim and Peter Willmann. A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876, (908) 526-7638. Visitation hours are Friday from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
