Judith F. Kopp, 78, of Bridgewater, NJ passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, she was raised in Linden but has resided in Bridgewater for 50 years.
Judy graduated from Linden High School and Upsala College and received her Master's Degree at Newark State College (now Kean University).
Judy worked as a teacher and in curriculum sales and was dedicated to education all of her life.
Judy was a passionate and dedicated friend, mother and grandmother. She got her most joy when she was surrounded by the people she loved. She enjoyed entertaining and cooked and baked for all who knew her. She was incredibly active and loved to travel and photograph her journeys. Judy also volunteered with Stomp the Monster where she delivered ice cream at St. Peter's University Hospital to patients undergoing cancer treatment. She was an extremely caring and compassionate person and a great friend to anyone who came in contact with her. The one thing she enjoyed most of all was spending time with her three grandchildren, daughters and sons-in-laws. She spent over 28 years with her longtime partner Roger Balsam who passed away a few years ago. They loved each other with abandon, laughed loud and often, and shared an amazing life together.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents Clara and Alexander Farkas.
Surviving are her two loving daughters, Meredith and husband Andrew Reinsdorf of Alexandria, VA; Dana and husband Craig Hudon of Bloomfield, NJ; a dear brother, Dr. Gary Farkas and his wife Dr. Velma Kameoka of Honolulu, HI; a sister Sherry Marlan and her husband Stewart Cohen of Carlsbad, CA; two nieces, Dawn Marlan and Tori Marlan, and three adored grandchildren, Jacob, Evan, and Ellie.
Burial will take place on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 12:30pm with a family ceremony at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ.
