Joyce A. Born, 80, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, PA, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Somerville, NJ, Joyce grew up in Middlesex, NJ, and resided in Somerville, NJ, before settling in Bridgewater, NJ.

At a young age, Joyce competed in beauty pageants in Atlantic City, NJ, and attended the Barbizon School of Modeling. After graduating from Bound Brook High School, she worked as a waitress at a luncheonette and as a secretary at Mack's Trucking. Her favorite career, however, was as a stay-at-home mom.

Joyce was a huge animal lover. She enjoyed watching British murder mystery shows and listening to Elvis Presley. What Joyce loved most was spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Margaret (Peggy) and Angelo Petty, her husband, Richard Born (2013), her sister, Constance (Jeannie), her niece, Karin, and her nephew, David.

Surviving are her dear son, Richard, and his wife, Catherine Born of Old Bridge, NJ; three loving daughters, Colleen Miller and her fiancé, Robert, of Greenfield, MA; Heather Simko of Center Valley, PA; and Melanie and her wife, Rachel Born of Hopewell, NJ; and eight cherished grandchildren, David and his fiancée, Melanie, Rick, Connor, Aidan, Amanda and her significant other Jordan, Andrew, Abigail, and Valerie. She is also survived by her niece, Robin, her son, Todd, and his fiancée, Kathy, and her nephew, Trevor.

Burial will take place on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 1 pm at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ. An end-of-life celebration will take place on Saturday, July 6, 2024, in Hopewell, NJ.
