Joshua Gabriel, 30, of East Stroudsburg, PA, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Health Park Medical Center in Ft. Myers, FL. Born in Somerville, NJ, Josh grew up in Raritan and later on resided in East Stroudsburg for most of his life before moving to Florida 4 years ago. Josh graduated from Bridgewater Raritan High School, Class of 2008. After graduating, Josh went on to receive his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and his Associates of science for Criminal Justice from ESU in Stroudsburg, PA, a Bachelor's degree in Information Security Analyst from the University of Florida. Josh worked as an IT Support Specialist for the City of Ft. Myer. Josh served in the U.S. Army, he served overseas as an Army Chemical OPS Specialist and Infantryman. He was a member of the V.F.W. of Stroudsburg, PA. Josh belonged to Phi Theta Kappa International Society and Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity. Josh enjoyed hiking, canoeing, camping, and the gun range. He loved the outdoors and was an amazing athlete, having played high school and college football, his other passion was gaming. One thing Josh enjoyed the most was spending quality time with his family especially his son Liam. Liam was his whole life. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, his paternal grandfather, and his brother Daniel Gagliardi. Surviving are his loving mother, Angela Alosi Alvarez, his step father Carols Alvarez of E. Stroudsburg, PA; His loving father Luis Gabriel of Piscataway, NJ; his beloved son, Liam J. Gabriel of Ft. Myers, FL; a loving daughter, Alyza Vargas of Ft. Myers, FL; three dear brothers, Carmelo and his fiancé Amanda McDonough of Manville, NJ; Jeremy Gabriel of Piscataway, NJ; William Gabriel of N. Plainfield, NJ; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and his two cats. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 17, 2021 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 10am at St. Bernard's Church in Bridgewater, NJ. We will be meeting at the Branchburg Funeral Home on Monday September 20, 2021 at 11am for his funeral procession towards his final resting place which will be held at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg, PA.
