Obituary

Joseph Anthony Soriano

Raritan, NJ

Joseph Anthony Soriano, 87, of Raritan, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville.

Born in Somerville on May 18, 1939, Joseph was raised in Raritan, and later attended Somerville High School, where he met his future wife Charlotte.

Joseph went on to the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with a degree in pharmacy in May of 1961, began his career at the local pharmacy, and married his wife Charlotte that September. That June, they had their son Joe, and less than two years later they had their daughter Pam.

In 1972, Joe joined his family's business, Main Amusement, in addition to that he started Jopa Vending.

Residing in Bridgewater until 2004, having never strayed far from his roots, Joe moved back to Raritan with his wife where they resided for many years.

As an avid New York Mets and New York Giants football fan, Joe enjoyed watching many games. He was known for his hilarious sense of humor and wit. Joseph's greatest joy was the time he spent with his children, grandchildren, and his beloved great-grandchild. As the patriarch of the family, everyone was able to depend on his advice, loyalty, and support.

He is predeceased by his beloved parents Amelia Vescovi Soriano and Anthony Soriano, his dear wife Charlotte Soriano, and his brother James Soriano.

Joseph is survived by his son Joe Soriano Jr. of Raritan, NJ, his daughter Pamela and husband Mike Ambrose of Hillsborough, NJ, and his grandchildren Joe and wife Morgan, Chris, Michael, Amy and husband Austin Drain, and his great grandson Logan.
