Joseph G. Skelton, 94, of Newfoundland, NJ, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Sunrise of Bridgewater. Born in Paterson, NJ, Joseph spent 59 years in Newfoundland.

Joseph served our Country during the Korean War. After serving, Joseph received his Bachelor's Degree from Newark College of Engineering and went on to work for Singer Kearfott as an Electrical Engineer.

During his free time, Joseph loved traveling to Pacific Islands especially Bora Bora and Fiji. He was very active in his church, St. Gabriel's.

Joseph loved tending to his garden and taking care of his peppers and tomatoes and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Most importantly, Joseph enjoyed spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandson.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Alice and Joseph B. Skelton and his daughter, Susan L. Skelton.

Surviving are his loving wife, Dorothy Skelton, his dear son, Donald and wife Joanne Skelton of Bridgewater, NJ; three loving daughters, Karlee and husband Anton Hoecker of South Portland ME; Nancy and husband Alan Arvidson of Burlington, CT; Carol and husband David Hanright of Saco, ME; his brother, Robert Skelton, nine cherished grandchildren, Lou, Ansel, Samuel, Richard, Evan, Kyle, Abbie, Eli, and Allie, an adored great grandson, Jack and one on the way, Maeve.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026 from 10am – 12pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at 11:30am.
