Joseph P. Hepworth, Sr. , 74, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at his residence. Born in Newark and a former resident of Bridgewater and Elizabeth, Joseph moved to Toms River fifteen years ago. Mr. Hepworth was an Insurance Salesman for Prudential Insurance Company in Newark for 25 years, he then worked as a Medical Supply Driver for Bell Medical for five years, retiring in 2007. Joseph was an avid softball player and New York Yankee fan. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sam Filce and Ruth Parnell Filce; his loving daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hepworth, in 1981; and his dear sister, Susan Serraino, in 2011. Surviving are his four loving sons, Joseph P., Jr. and wife, Carol of Chester, MA, Craig D. and wife, Debbie of Bridgewater, Timothy S. and wife, Susan of Manville, and Jonathan W. and wife, Joann of Branchburg; his seven cherished granddaughters, Rikki, Leslie, Tina, Jaclyn, Victoria, Elizabeth, and Grace; and his dear sister, Deborah Goodhart of NJ. A Prayer Service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Ave., East Hanover. Viewing hours are Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
