Jon A. Schafer

Jon A. Schafer, 80, of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Marietta, OH, Jon resided in North Brunswick before moving to Hillsborough.

Jon graduated high school in 1961. He went on to study at MIT where he received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Jon continued his studies at Carnegie Mellon University where he received a dual Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Business.

An avid sports fan, Jon enjoyed watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and Stevens Lacrosse Teams. He loved traveling all over the world with his wife Jane and doing puzzles. He was also a Life Master in Bridge. In his younger years, Jon became an Eagle Scout and played football.

Most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Edna and Robert Schafer, Sr. and his brother, Robert L. Schafer, Jr. (2012).

Surviving are his loving wife, Jane Schafer, his daughter, Julie and husband Edward Bacome, step son Robert Lawler and wife Cathie, two step daughters, Mary Jane and husband Russell Rogers, Christine and husband Eric Mauriello, and eight cherished grandchildren, Natalie, Bryan, Camryn, Lucas, Marcus, Julia, Danny, and Derek.
