John Wagner, 82, of Flemington, NJ passed away peacefully on Saturday August 1, 2026 at Morristown Memorial Hospital.

Born in Somerville, New Jersey, John was raised in Bradley Gardens, the place he proudly called home for many years, before later settling in Locktown, where he resided for the next 48 years.

Upon high school graduation, John owned and operated JW Auto Sales Inc. for 50 years.

To know John was to love him. Everyone who knew him described him as a great guy. John had a lifelong passion for cars and anything with a motor. He enjoyed racing throughout his life, beginning at Flemington Speedway and continuing at East Windsor Speedway, Bridgeport Speedway and several other tracks He even owned his own stock car. John also spent several years coaching his son's baseball team during his childhood. A licensed pilot, he loved flying whenever he had the opportunity. He also looked forward to his regular vacations to Stuart, Florida, with his family.

John is predeceased by his beloved parents Dorothy Bridget Langon and Francis Edwin Wagner.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Wagner; his son, John Wagner; his brothers, Tom Wagner and his wife, Susan, and Charles Edwin Wagner and his wife, Barbara; and three cherished grandchildren: John, Jake, and Jimmy.

A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 5pm-7pm at The Branchburg Funeral home 910 Route 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876.

In honor of John's wishes, the family kindly asks that those attending his memorial service dress casual.
