In Loving Memory of John H. Reimer, Jr. February 12, 1939 – April 20, 2025 Bridgewater, NJ
John H. Reimer, Jr. of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, with his beloved wife by his side.
Born in Harvey, North Dakota, and raised in North Brunswick, John was a graduate of New Brunswick High School (Class of 1956) and Dartmouth College (Class of 1960). He went on to serve his country with pride in the United States Marine Corps from 1960 to 1966.
John lived a life centered on service, faith, and family. He was a longtime member of Bridgewater United Methodist Church and sang in the choir. He was also involved with The Barbershop Harmony Society, the Gardeners of Somerset Valley, the American Legion Post 12, and the New Jersey Marine Corps League. He generously gave his time to causes he cared about, volunteering with CASA and serving on the board of the Martin Luther King Youth Center.
At home, John was happiest in the garden, in the kitchen, or surrounded by loved ones. He especially cherished time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, who were the heart of his world.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edna and John H. Reimer, Sr. Surviving are his wife Linda; his brother Charles (Barbara), sister Patricia; sons J. Mark (Karen), Stephen (Hannah), Peter, Scott (Melissa), and James (Jessica); daughters Christina, Elizabeth (Michael), and Michelle; and 17 beloved grandchildren: William, Emily, Marguerite, Josiah, Sam, Jacob, Max, Adi, Daniel, Jonathan, Benjamin, Sophia, Katie, Allison, Charles, Abigail, and Oliver.
A fellowship time will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1 at Bridgewater United Methodist Church followed by a memorial service in the sanctuary at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, CASA of New Jersey, or a local community garden in John's name.
John's legacy of love, service, and strength will live on in every life he touched.
