John Petriw South Plainfield, NJ John Petriw, 96, of South Plainfield, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at his home. Born in Kraina, Ukraine, he immigrated to the USA, where he lived in Plainfield for over 20 years before moving to South Plainfield 30 plus years ago. John was a forklift operator at Dreyfus for many years before his retirement. He then did landscaping for friends. John loved doing word searches, listening to music, landscaping, woodworking, gardening, traveling to Europe with his late wife, and spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Victoria and Michail Petriw; his loving wife of 66 years, Rose Michenfelder Petriw (2012), and his son Gerhard Petriw (2011). Surviving are his two cherished grandchildren, Christopher (wife Vickie) and Melissa (husband Joseph); three adored great-grandchildren, Alexander, Adriana, and Joseph; and his daughter- in- law, Eileen Petriw of Readington, NJ. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2020 from 1-3pm with a 3pm prayer service at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 .
