John P. Grasso

John P. Grasso, 71, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

John was married to his beloved wife of 38 years, Joanne and was an outstanding father to his son Victor. His sister Barbara "Bobbie" Barrett as well as family and friends who loved and supported him through his illness.

John was the son of Margaret and John G. Grasso born in Newark, NJ. He resided in South Plainfield, NJ during his childhood and later moved to Bridgewater, NJ.

In his young adult life, John worked at the Plainfield Country Club where he was a caddy for John Cook whom in 1978 won the United States Amateur Golf Tournament.

John's outgoing and genuine personality lead him into a career in sales. John worked as a car salesman for Dodge and Toyota for over 30 years. He won many awards for sales competitions as well as numerous achievements for sales quotas. Anyone that knew John said that he was the best salesman they ever met.

John retired at 62 years old. Golf was his passion, and he played during retirement 3-4 times a week at Neshanic Academy where he was liked by the clubhouse team as well as fellow golfers. Everyone knew Johnny, he would go out alone and hook up with other golfers and entertain them with his stories.

Besides golf, John enjoyed the Jersey Shore especially the boardwalk and beach with Vic, trips to Aruba, and many great dinners and parties with friends.

Above all, John was very religious to his Catholic beliefs and practiced his faith with unwavering confidence.

A viewing will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 from 3pm-7pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.

A prayer service will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 9:15am at the Branchburg Funeral Home. Funeral mass to begin at 10am at St. Bernard R.C. Church in Bridgewater, NJ. Entombment to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery.
