John J. Gambino, Jr. 72, died Wednesday, August 20, 2008. Born in Somerville, he resided in Raritan his entire life. For thirty years, he owned and operated Gamby's Vending Company of Raritan, before retiring in 1988. John was a Communicant of St. Ann's R. C. Church of Raritan, a former member of the Somerville B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1068, a former member of the Raritan Post-War Club, an avid Yankee fan, and enjoyed spending quality time with his entire family. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. John was preceded in death by his beloved first wife of 33 years Shirley Filiano Gambino in 1990, and a sister Jean Sodolski. Surviving are his beloved wife Clara Gambino, his loving sons, Thomas and wife Patricia of Basking Ridge, Andres Ramirez and wife Ligia of Raritan, his loving daughters, Terri Sapp and husband Jim of Bridgewater, Adriana Angel and husband Juan of Apollo Beach, Florida, his cherished grandchildren, Thomas and Christina Gambino, Katie, Abby, and Jimmy Sapp, Melissa Ramirez, Sebastian and Sergio Angel, his dear brother Anthony Gambino and wife Arlene of Bridgewater, and his dear sisters Rosalie Kotarski (Tom) of Manville, Mary-Ann Mann(Paul) of Somerville, Phyllis Ader, Ethel Beavers, and Edna Gambino, all of Bridgewater. Funeral Services will begin Saturday August 23, 2008 at 9:45am with a prayer at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 U.S. Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638, followed by a 10:30am Funeral Liturgy at the St. Ann's R.C. Church 45 Anderson Street Raritan. Interment will be in the St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bridgewater. Visitation hours are Friday from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at the funeral home.
