Obituary

John A. Furfaro

Hillsborough, NJ

John A. Furfaro, 63, of Hillsborough, passed away on July 09, 2024, at RWJ Hospital in Somerville, surrounded by his loving family.

John graduated from Somerville High School in 1978 and attended Rutgers University. He was a laboratory technician at Bell Labs prior to his motor vehicle accident.

John was an avid fan of harness racing, spending countless hours at the track watching his horses race, but he also enjoyed watching them race in the comfort of his home. He shared this passion with his cousin Rich, who cared for his horses and spent hours discussing them on the phone. He also had a passion for watching scary movies and murder documentaries and enjoyed discussing them with family and friends. John's love for baseball was evident throughout his life, as he followed the sport closely and played on the All-Star team during high school.

John's love for baseball began with his father, Vincent Sr., who played professional baseball with the Boston Red Sox. Along with playing baseball, John enjoyed watching the New York Giants, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the New York Rangers. Most importantly, he loved watching his soccer team, Arsenal F.C. In addition to his hobbies, John cherished time spent with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Genevieve and Vincent Furfaro Sr., and his brother Vincent "Thumper" Furfaro Jr.

He is survived by his sister Lisa and her husband Alex Wlodkowski, his nieces Brittany and Alexis Wlodkowski, and his cousin Rich Federico and his wife, Cheryl.

John's caring nature and passionate spirit touched the lives of many, including his 24-hour care nurses, Debbie, Melissa, and Lisa. He will be deeply missed by his extended family and numerous friends.
