John P. Cosenza

Branchburg, NJ

John P. Cosenza, 76, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at RWJ Hospital in Somerville. Born in Montclair, John resided in Bloomfield and Bridgewater before settling in Branchburg.

John received his Associates Degree in advertising art from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art. After graduation, John worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Newark, Oakite Products in Berkeley Heights, and Olivetti in Bridgewater before venturing out and becoming self-employed.

He was a wonderful watercolor artist, painting many pictures for family and friends over the years. He enjoyed collecting postwar O-gauge Lionel trains, showcasing them on a train table complete with handmade buildings. John also enjoyed golfing and skiing in his younger years, becoming very active in his children's lives as a Little League and softball coach, and enthusiastic cheer dad.

John enjoyed many things in life: discovering new recipes for cooking and baking; woodworking; taking trips to Amish Country with his wife Patricia; collecting wine with his son; and traveling to Chicago and California to see his children. Most importantly, John loved being a husband, father, and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Frances and John Cosenza.

Surviving are his loving wife of 41 years, Patricia Kiser Cosenza; a dear son, Garrett and wife Corey Cosenza of Napa, CA; a loving daughter, Devon and husband Kyle Pucciarello of Chicago; a sister, Michelle Cosenza of Cedar Grove, NJ; two cherished grandchildren, Miya and Giacomo (Jack) Cosenza; and two granddogs, Wendy and Hank.
