John Cascio, 68, of Hillsborough, NJ, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Foothill Acres Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Orange, NJ, John resided in Bridgewater for 5 years and Readington for 20 years before moving to Hillsborough.
John graduated from Vailsburg High School, Class of 1972, and attended Kean College. Following this John worked in the Real Estate Industry at Archie Schwartz Company for 5 years. He then partnered with Stephen Nozza to create New Jersey Equity Corp. from 1988 to 2008. In 2008, Bussel Realty Corp. acquired New Jersey Equity Corp. and John joined the team. He always valued his customer relationships, and many customers shared the same fondness for him. John retired in January, 2018.
Early on in life, John enjoyed trips to St. Thomas with his brother and family. He later enjoyed cruises and many vacations in Aruba with his wife, Ingrid, and daughter, Brianna, as well as locally in Wildwood Crest, Stone Harbor, and Cape May. He had many interests, one of which was cooking, especially barbecuing on the grill. He was famous for making the best filet mignon and burgers for family and friends! Some items John liked to collect were wine, coins and ties. He also liked playing poker and going to Atlantic City. John was an enthusiastic homeowner, who always enjoyed working on the lawn and maintaining the landscaping. He loved decorating the house for the holidays, both inside and out. For most of John's life, including his last years, he was an avid Neil Diamond fan, and thoroughly enjoyed listening and singing along to the many great songs.
Finally, John enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. He loved entertaining and was always a gracious host to his guests, some coming from Germany. He especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved daughter, Brianna, his pride and joy.
John is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anna and Joseph Cascio, a sister Florence Taft and a brother, Joe Cascio.
Surviving are his loving wife of 30 years, Ingrid Malkus Cascio, a loving daughter, Brianna and husband Carmine Ricciardi of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters, Kay Vella of Whiting, NJ; Josephine Philippi and husband Brian of Rocky Hill, NJ; and loving nieces and nephews.
