John C. Blackford

John C. Blackford, 95, of Raritan, NJ, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Life Quest Village in Pennsylvania. Born in Plainfield, NJ, John resided in Raritan for 10 years.

John served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951-1953. Shortly after, John went on to work for PSE&G as a Lineman, retiring in 1993.

John enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a huge old movie buff including Western and War movies specifically Pacific Theater. Most importantly, John enjoyed spending quality time with his friends and family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mary and George Blackford, his brother, George Blackford Jr., a sister – in – law, Betty Blackford and his brother – in – law, John Petriello.

Surviving are his dear son, James and wife Susan Blackford, his loving daughter, Nancy and husband Richard Grant, his sister, Virginia Petriello, four cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Grant, Lauren Blackford (Nicholas Florie), Joseph Blackford (Alexandra), Lindsay Greenwald (Christopher), and three adored great grandchildren, Carter, Shay, and Phoebe.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1-5pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home at 4:30pm.
