John R. Baron Branchburg, NJ John R. Baron, 82, of Branchburg NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 06, 2016. Born in Plainfield NJ, he resided in South Plainfield before marrying Marjorie McColgan and settling in Piscataway where he lived and raised his 5 children before moving to Branchburg 26 years ago. Mr. Baron graduated from North Plainfield High School in 1952. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Before his retirement, he worked as a machinist for Wood Newspaper Machinery Corp. John was a devout catholic and communicant of St. Bernard R.C. Church in Bridgewater. He was an avid Fisherman, sports enthusiast, enjoyed high school sports and going to his grandchildren's sporting events and activities. John and his wife traveled much of the United States and Europe visiting religious Shrines in Italy, France, and Spain. He mostly enjoyed his yearly fishing trip with his family in up-state NY. He loved spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren who he was so proud of. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents John and Mary Rochford Baron, and his sister Gloria Crowley. Surviving are his beloved wife of 60 years, Marjorie McColgan Baron of Branchburg NJ; 2 wonderful sons, John and wife Susan of Garwood NJ, and Dan and wife Donna of Branchburg NJ; 3 loving daughters, Patricia and husband John Egan of Bridgewater NJ, Susan and husband David Van't Slot of Pittstown NJ, Eileen and husband Eric Warren of Annandale NJ; 1 dear sister, Catherine Hibbard of South Plainfield NJ; and 12 cherished grandchildren, Caraline, Jack, Chris, Megan, Ryan, Mary, Matthew, Ashley, Sean, Katie, Michael and Shannon. Viewing will be held Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 1:00-5:00 PM at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Funeral services will start with a prayer at 9:15 AM at the funeral home on Monday, April 11, 2016 followed by a 10:00 AM funeral liturgy at St. Bernard R.C. Church in Bridgewater NJ. Interment will follow in the Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield NJ.
