JoAnne P. McLean Riggs , 71, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bronx, NY, she resided there until moving to Bridgewater thirty five years ago. Ms. Riggs was a homemaker and worked as an accountant for fifteen years, working at both the Bronx Zoo and Cardinal Spellman High School, until retiring in 2007. She graduated from Kean College in 1992 with a BS in Accounting and was vice-president of Phi-Theta-Kappa. JoAnne was a former member of Pluckemin Presbyterian Church. JoAnne was a ten year volunteer at Somerset Medical Center. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and chess. She also enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Anne Cullen McLean; and a brother, John McLean. Surviving are her beloved daughter, Christine Riggs and her husband, Daniel Chipchase of Branchburg; her cherished granddaughter, Elizabeth; her dear brother, Thomas McLean and his wife, RoseMarie of Danbury, CT; and her two nieces, Donna and Michele. Viewing hours will be Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 12 PM with a Prayer Service to begin at 12 PM at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638.
