Joanna E. Ruch Raritan NJ Joanna E. Ruch, 69, of Raritan, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 10, 2016. Born in Plainfield NJ, she resided in Redwood City, CA before moving to Raritan NJ 28 years ago. Mrs. Ruch was an educator, teaching science for various school districts in CA and NJ for over 40 years. She also had a store in Redwood City, CA where she made and sold all different types of stained glass sculptures and art supplies and published a book on creating stained glass windows. Joanna had a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Montclair University, and a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Joanna enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, dining out with her family, art, singing, and spending quality time with her family. She was very proud of her Greek heritage and was avid animal lover, especially dogs and birds. She will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Celia Margaronis, her beloved husband Thomas O. Ruch, and her sister Poppy Anderson. Surviving are her 3 dear sons, CJ and his wife Jane Ruch of Hillsborough NJ, Joth Ruch of Scotch Plains NJ, and Zoie Ruch of Phillipsburg NJ; 1 daughter, Melina and her husband Jimmy Everett of Lake in the Hills, IL; 2 grandchildren, Nic and Keira; and 2 wonderful sisters, Patricia Margaronis of NJ, and Mary Sommers of Bound Brook NJ. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Somerset Animal Shelter or any other wildlife conservation organizations.
