Joan E. (Hess) Schader, 92, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Teaneck, NJ, Joan lived in Port Richey, Florida, for 31 years before moving to Branchburg. She graduated from Teaneck High School and worked for PSE&G, where she met her late husband, Robert Schader. They moved to West Milford, NJ, where they raised their three children.

Joan's greatest passion was reading; she loved to get lost in her books and was reading until the last week of her life. She also enjoyed cooking, quilting, camping, playing games, and telling great jokes. In her younger days, Joan loved to organize Bingo and pot luck dinners in her community club house. Most importantly, she treasured spending quality time with her family.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Eleanor and John Hess, her brother Carl Hess, and her husband, Robert Schader.

She is survived by her dear son John Schader of Upper Greenwood Lake, NJ; her two loving daughters, Carole and husband Steve Ney of Branchburg, NJ; and Susan and husband James Andre of Winter Haven, Florida. She is also survived by three cherished grandchildren, Laura Andre, Jessica, and Samantha Ney as well as a niece and several nephews.
