Joan Catherine Mohan, nee Mickey, 89, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Born in Newark, Joan grew up in Nutley and attended Lady of Good Counsel High School in Newark. She resided in Branchburg for 43 years before moving to Whitehouse Station.
Joan attended Katherine Gibbs School and worked as a secretary for AT&T. During her career, she held various administrative positions, her last being with publisher Mountain Lion, Inc. where she worked as an office manager for 15 years before her retirement in 2010.
During her free time, you could find Joan singing in the church choir at Holy Trinity Church and with the Hunterdon Senior Chorus. She was also involved with Elizabeth Ministries at Holy Trinity and with fundraising for the Branchburg Rescue Squad. She was a Girl Scout troop leader and was involved along with PTA school groups in Branchburg and at Immaculata High School. For many years she was an active member of the Hunterdon Sailing Club based at Spruce Run Reservoir in Clinton.
Joan loved spending her time sitting on the beach, playing cards and Scrabble, and traveling to Europe. Most importantly, Joan enjoyed spending quality time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Julia and Ralph S. Mickey, her husband, Arthur G. Mohan, and two brothers, Ralph S. Mickey and John ("Jack") Mickey.
Surviving are her two dear sons, Brian and fiancée Regina Giardina, Michael and wife Odile Mohan, two loving daughters, Anne and husband Bruce Magaw, and Catherine Mule, and eight cherished grandchildren, Laura, Emma, Vincent, Ellen, Tricia and husband Brendan Lynch, Alice, Edwin, and Annie.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 4pm-6pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
Family and friends are to gather at Holy Trinity Church for a funeral mass beginning at 10:00 a.m., 60 Maple Street Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
