Joan Marotta, 86, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at RWJ Hospital in Somerville, NJ. Born in Yonkers, NY, Joan resided in Willingboro, NJ, for 10 years, Hillsborough, NJ, for 12 years, and Branchburg, NJ, for 35 years.

She graduated from Gorton High School in 1954. She was employed by Joseph J. Gallagher Insurance Agency in Mount Holly, NJ, from 1970-1977. She went on to work at the Ortho Pharmaceutical Medical Research Library for 16 years before retiring in 1994.

Joan was a member of The Church of the Holy Trinity in Bridgewater, NJ., where she served on the Altar Rosary Society, the Red Hat Society, and volunteered at the church's food pantry.

She loved to bake—especially during the holidays. Joan enjoyed dining with friends, traveling with her late husband, Joseph, and making jigsaw puzzles. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid Yankees fan.

Joan is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Margaret and Andrew Lopeck; her husband of 60 years, Joseph J. Marotta (2016); and her brother, Robert Lopeck.

Surviving are her two dear sons, Joseph R. Marotta and fiancé Ranee Wilson of Castlerock, CO, and her son, Jack; Robert A. Marotta and wife, Linda Marotta of Annandale, NJ; two loving daughters, Denise Lopes and husband, Joseph Lopes, of Wilmington, DE; Donna Eberling, and husband, Tommy Eberling of Lebanon, NJ; six cherished grandchildren, Angela, Joseph, Lindsay, Jenna, Jake, and Katie; and two adored great-grandchildren, Rockland and Ridley.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876.

A prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 9:15am. Mass will take place at 10am at Holy Trinity Church in Bridgewater, NJ. Entombment to follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum.
