Jimmy "Bond" Bascotti
Raritan, NJ
Local DJ Jimmy Bond Bascotti sadly passed away suddenly on Christmas morning. Born in Newark, NJ, he was a resident of Union and Roselle Park before moving to Raritan 3 years ago.
Jimmy Bond had been an expert DJ/Entertainer for over 30 years, performing at all types of events including weddings, family milestones and outdoor picnics. Jimmy's greatest source of pride was his loyal family of clients.
Jimmy was indeed a colorful and celebrated radio DJ. He began his popular on-air career at William Patterson College's WPSC, and was recently warmly welcomed back to perform a show for the alumni radio week. His first professional radio job was juggling popular shows on both the AM and FM side of a local New Jersey radio station. He most recently hosted the Slightly Mad Internet Radio Show on WNTI out of Centenary University in Hackettstown as "Jimmy Bond", and the Sunday Funnys show on WDVR 89.7 FM out of Sergeantsville as "Jimmy Bee", with his co-host "Ginger Snap".
Jimmy purely loved to entertain. He received immense joy in life making everyone in his company happy and amused.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Josephine and James Bascotti, his maternal grandparents, Jennie and Rafaelle Staiano, his beloved parents, Antoinette and Frank Bascotti, and his loyal canine companion, Baby.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 15 years, Elaine Strotz Bascotti and several wonderful cousins and friends.
