Jane Dorothy Giambald Linn, 92, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024 at her home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Jane resided in Plainfield, NJ for 10 years before settling in Bridgewater, NJ with her beloved husband Bruce.

Jane's formal education included course work at the Queens College of the City of New York as well as a degree in stenography from the highly-respected Washington School for Secretaries, a practical degree she pursued in order to provide critical financial support so her husband Bruce could pursue his doctorate at Duke University. Jane's professional highlights include paralegal work at two busy law firms (Wharton, Stewart, and Davis; Herold, Ragsdale, and Haines), skilled secretarial work at William Muirhead Construction Company and invaluable administrative work at the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Jane was extensively self-educated through a lifetime of reading and communicated her love of, and skill with, words to her children and grandchildren. Her talents were evident to all who knew her, as she regularly completed the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzles, composed beautiful letters and recently penned an engaging book of remembrances for her family. Jane had a deep faith in God and greatly valued her church community. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, photography, crocheting, and watching British and Korean dramas. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jane's values of love, learning and connection were evident to all who knew her; she will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her beloved relations including her parents, Dina and Bennett Giambald, her daughter, Tina Katherine Linn (Dr. Leonard Nitowski), her husband, Dr. Bruce Linn, and her great grandchild, Jacob Linn.

Surviving are her cherished family members including two sons, Rev. David Bruce (Barbara) Linn of Rome, NY; Jeffrey Bennett (Jen-Nai) Linn of Edison, NJ; a brother, Leonard Giambald of Long Island, NY; six grandchildren, Christopher (Rachael) Linn, Alex (Stephanie) Linn, Diana Nitowski, Laura Nitowski (Dr. Berkeley Dietvorst), John Linn, and Joanna Linn as well as four great grandchildren, Lucas, Julia, Eric, and Andrew.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm EST on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 1350 Washington Valley Rd, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
