James F. Wagner
, 79, died Saturday (March 5, 2005) at the Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, N.J.
Born in Elizabeth, he formerly resided in Neshanic Station for 41 years before moving to Whitehouse Station four years ago.
Mr. Wagner was president of Union Trucking Company, Wagner Transportation and Preferred Leasing , all of Kenilworth, N.J. for fifty years until retiring in 1995.
He served in the Construction Battalion of the U.S. Navy during WW II.
He was a member of the South Branch Reformed Church since 1960 and recently served as a Church Elder for two years. James was a lifetime Rotarian member and a former President of the Kenilworth Rotary Club and was the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship Award. He was a member of the Raritan Valley Country Club, The American Trucking Association and the WBCCI Air Stream Travelers.
He was an avid golfer and cherished his family, especially his grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by a son Jeffrey in 1995 and a daughter Suzanne Brislin in 2000.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years Ann Marie Gebauer Wagner, His dear sons, Chris Wagner and daughter-in-law Jean of San Diego, California, Scott of Orlando, Florida and Todd of Davenport, Florida, his dear daughter Janie Wagner of Bridgewater, a daughter-in-law Elizabeth Wagner of Neshanic Station, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
