James C. Fahey Frenchtown, NJ James C. Fahey, 50, of Frenchtown, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family, on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Born in the Bronx, NY, he grew up in Long Valley, NJ, where he spent most of his early life before moving to Florham Park where he started his family, then moved to Frenchtown two years ago. Jim worked for Prudential for over 25 years where he established many lifelong friends and really enjoyed his job. Jim was very involved with his children's activities including coaching Little League and Basketball in Florham Park and Frenchtown. His wife and children were the light of his life and nothing was more important than them. Anyone who knew Jim would know that he was well known for his amazing sense of humor and caring heart. The self-described picker of strings, shenanigan enthusiast, enjoyer of strong ales was often the life of the party. Jim was, according to his suspicious score cards at least, an excellent golfer. A self-taught musician, he wrote, played and loved music. An excellent cook as well; his red sauce was considered a national treasure and sadly, a state secret. Jim lived a Wonderful Life and made an impact on everyone he encountered and will be missed tremendously. 'No man is a failure who has friends. Thanks for the wings….' He is preceded in death by his beloved father, Richard (1983); cousin Jim Conroy (1988), and his nephew David McElwaine (2012). Surviving are his beloved wife Doreen, of 22 years; his cherished son and daughter, Jimmy and Grace "Gigi"; his mother Christine Joannides and stepfather Chris, his dearest brothers, Tom and wife Carlyn and Rick; 3 loving step sisters, Kim, Kerry, and Linda and husband Tom Hassett; his loving step brother, Michael and wife Janice. Mother in law Mary Howe, and husband Tom; Father in law John Matura and MaryAnn; sister in law, Lianne and husband Marco; and two brother in laws John Matura and wife Sheila, and Joe and his wife Lindsay'; and many adored aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 from 4-8pm with a prayer service at 7:30pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway Route 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Interment to be held on a future date to be determined.
