James E. Dwane Jr., 84, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Sunrise of Bridgewater. Born in Brooklyn, NY, James spent most of his life in Ridgewood Queens and Branchburg, NJ, before moving to Whitehouse Station.

A proud Veteran, James served our county in the Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

James received his Master's Degree in Business from Columbia University. He also attended St. Francis College. James spent his entire career in the insurance industry, eventually rising to the position of CEO and President of Prudential Reinsurance. After a successful career, he retired in 1995 at age 55.

During his free time, James enjoyed swimming, golfing, attending train shows with his best friends, horseback riding and traveling with his wife Kathleen. Through his career and travel, they were able to visit all of the continents except Antarctica. James cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He attended as many sporting event and clubs as time would allow. He loved to research and follow the stock markets and kept his mind sharp managing investments. When he wasn't watching the stock market, James enjoyed watching the Giants and Yankees play. Most importantly, James enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Marion and James E. Dwane Sr.

Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Kathleen Dwane, a dear son, James and wife Mindy Dwane of Alpharetta, GA; two loving daughters, Shannon and husband Patrick Waters of Basking Ridge, NJ; Mary Ellen Dwane and husband Steve Simko of Bridgewater, NJ; and eight cherished grandchildren, Emily Dwane, Colin Waters, Blake Dwane, Ryan Waters, Reagan Waters, Kaitlin Simko, Brian Dwane, Kathleen Pestrichelli, and William Pestrichelli.

A viewing will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 9am-10am at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876.

Funeral services will start with a prayer service at the funeral home on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 10:15am. Funeral mass will take place at St. Bernard Church at 11am. Burial to follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ.
