James "Allen" Cribb, 69, of Jim Thorpe, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at his home. Born in Folkston, GA, when he was three James and his family moved to Piscataway, NJ where he grew up. James resided in Bridgewater for most of his life and the Pocono's for 14 years before moving to Jim Thorpe, Pa 1 year and 3 months ago.
While in High school, he worked part time on a horse ranch where he met his future wife, Debbie. They married and had two children, Laura and James. He made his living working as a carpenter building houses. James was number 11 out of 13 children.
James achieved his GED as an adult and worked with his father-in-law for many years with his construction firm, "Bridgewater Construction", and then went on his own. Overall, James has been doing construction for 50 plus years.
James enjoyed fishing, boating, and crabbing. He was an avid reader and loved horses. James like to cook and bake cakes for his grandchildren's birthdays. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bertha and Roy Cribb and his wife of 48 years, Deborah Holeman Cribb (2020), and four brothers, Arthur, Edward, Mitchell and Ray.
Surviving are his dear son, James Cribb and Fiancé Faith Souyrda of Jim Thorpe, PA; his loving daughter, Laura Cribb and Jon Chambres of Kunkletown, PA; four brothers, Joe and wife Cathy Cribb of NJ; Monroe Cribb of De Queen, AK; Gerald and wife Linda Cribb of NC; Roy Cribb of Waycross, GA; and four sisters; Faye and husband Harvey Freeman of Waycross, GA; Annette Bala of Waycross, GA; Shirley and husband Curtis Johnson of Broken Bow, OK; and Elizabeth Mason of Waycross, GA; three cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Jaden, and Kaylee and many loving nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
A second viewing will be held on Friday, April 14 from 10am-11am with a prayer service starting at 11am. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Bridgewater, NJ.
