Obituary

It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our daughter Jacquelyn "Jackie" Alves Soto, 40, of Sicklerville, NJ on 11/9/2021. Jackie was born and raised in Edison, NJ. There are no words that could possibly express the sadness, emptiness, pain and broken hearts we have been left with. What a tremendous loss to this world. Jackie was a one in a million daughter. She was loving, kind, caring and funny. She had a way of making friends with everyone around her. Her laughter was contagious and her smile was unforgettable. She added a little sparkle to every room she entered. Jackie would do just about anything to make you feel special and loved. Thoughtfulness and kindness were a very special part of who she was as a person. Showing people how much she cared was what she enjoyed most. Cards and gifts were not uncommon for her to give to let you know she was thinking about you. Jackie lived a happy life with her husband, Efrain, and Sunshine, their dog. She didn't need to live in mansion on top of the hill to be happy. All that was important to her was the love she shared with her family and friends. She had all she wanted in her life. Have you ever heard the story about the teacher who asked his student "What do you want to be when you grow up?" The student replied "happy." Jackie just wanted to be happy and to make others happy as well. Everyone loved Jackie and her zest for life was amazing. On March 1, 2021, Jacquelyn lost her husband suddenly and was left with a broken heart. They were truly soulmates. If you knew Efrain and their relationship, you would understand the heart break she felt. She missed him so very much and was struggling with her own health issues at the same time. Her last hospital stay was seven weeks long. God took Jackie from us to be with her husband, the love of her life. It is and always will be difficult for us to understand why two of the most precious people in our lives have been taken from our lives. It's these days we will never forget. A piece of our hearts went with them. Parents should never have to bury their child. We know life will never be the same. As we continue to try to understand this unbearable loss of Jackie and Efrain, we ask you to keep fond memories of them close to your heart and to keep them in your prayers. Jackie is survived by her loving parents, Anthony and Patricia Alves, her brother, Anthony, aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends and her loving dog, Sunshine. There will be a Celebration of Life chapel service at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway, NJ. The date is pending and details will be posted when confirmed. Memorial contributions can be made in Jacquelyn's name to National Kidney Foundation, Deborah Heart and Lung Center, Make A Wish, St. Jude, and ASPCA
