Hector M. Martinez Branchburg, NJ Hector M. Martinez, 80, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Somerset. Born and raised in Santiago, Dominican Republic, he immigrated to the US where he resided in Jackson Heights, NY for 20 years, before moving to Branchburg, NJ, 2 years ago. Hector worked as an Accountant for over 30 years before his retirement in 1995. While living in the Dominican Republic he was a member of Iglesia Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes. Hector was a kind, generous, hardworking man, and would do anything to provide for his family. He opened his home to everyone and was always there to help a friend in need. Hector had a great sense of humor, loved to tell jokes, be the life of the party, and host social gatherings at his home. He loved cooking for his family and friends, going out to dinner, watch baseball, travel to the beach, and spend quality time with his family. His kind heart will forever be remembered and missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Margarita Del Carmen Martinez and Jose Antonio Fernandez; his two borthers, Jose Adriano Martinez and Roberto Martinez; and his sister, Fausta Dolores Martinez. Surviving are his beloved wife of 47 years, Rosalia Martinez; three dear sons, Hector Jr. Martinez and his wife Sandra Rodriguez of Manhattan, NY, Antonio Martinez of Bronx, NY, and Hector Franklin and his wife Jezir Martinez of DR; his loving daughter, Rosanna and husband Phillip Berry of Branchburg, NJ; three brothers, Rafael and wife Anna Martinez of DR, Ramon and wife Argentina Matinez of Queens, NY, and Gilberto Martinez of Queens, NY; four sisters, Carmen Valdez of DR, Antonia Grullon of DR, Juana Martinez of DR, and Carmen Anton of Queens, NY; and 5 cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Anthony, Rosalia, Amada, and Carolyn. Viewing will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 from 4-7 pm with a prayer service at 6:30pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. Burial will be private.
