Gwendolyn E.
Ouellette

Gwendolyn E. Ouellette
Branchburg, NJ
Gwendolyn Edith Ouellette, 80, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 29, 2023, with her family at her side.
Gwen was born on November 8, 1942, in Bronx, NY, daughter of the late Charles Fitzhugh Beam and the late Moye Isabelle Heafner Beam. She loved her early life in the Parkchester neighborhood of the Bronx. After spending a few years in Europe, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from City College of New York.
Gwen loved to camp, first by tent and, after retiring, in their RV, visiting the U.S. from Maine to Key West, California to Alaska, and everywhere in between. She enjoyed biking, hiking, skiing, kayaking, and the many Franklin Greens Ski Plus Club activities. Gwen also enjoyed going on cruises, attending symphonies and Broadway shows, plays and concerts in the park, birthdays-in-November parties, dressing up for Halloween, listening to her favorite music, and traveling all over the world. Everybody loved Gwen. She was the ultimate social director for her wide circle of friends, the life of the party, and introduced new activities and experiences to many.
Gwen met Andy while visiting friends at the University of Maine and, after a brief courtship, they were married in New York City on June 13, 1970. Andy joined AT&T and they moved to New Jersey. Gwen was a Production Planner at E.R. Squibb, and later Associate Manager of Inventory Deployment at Bristol-Myers Squibb. Both Gwen and Andy retired in early 2002 to devote more time to travel.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her dear brother, Charles Fitzhugh Beam Jr., Professor Emeritus of Chemistry with the College of Charleston.
Surviving are her loving husband of nearly 53 years, Andre Gerard Ouellette, her brother's widow, Sallie Beam of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876 on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 4-8 pm. Gwen wishes were to be cremated. So, rather than a funeral service, there will be a Celebration-of-Life party in the near future.
