Gloria G. Trimmer

Manville, NJ

Gloria G. Trimmer, 90, of Manville, NJ, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Laurel Circle, Bridgewater, NJ. Born in Somerville, NJ, on April 5, 1932, Gloria grew up in South Branch, NJ. After marrying her high school sweetheart in 1950, Gloria lived in Branchburg until she moved to Manville 3 years ago.

Gloria graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1950. In 1953, she graduated from Orange Memorial School of Nursing. During her nursing career, Gloria worked as a Registered Nurse at Somerset Hospital in Somerville, and several care facilities including Somerset Valley Nursing Home in Bound Brook, Raritan Health and Extended Care in Bridgewater, and the Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater, from which she retired in 1995. Gloria then went on to work at Kangaroo Kids Child Care and Learning Center, which she absolutely loved because of her love for children.

Gloria was a past member and President of Women's Auxiliary for the North Branch Volunteer Fire Company. She was also a member of the Retired Nurses Association. Gloria enjoyed baking, gardening, bird watching, having family dinners and picnics, taking trips to the Jersey Shore and attending her grandchildren's sporting and school events. The one thing Gloria enjoyed the most was spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. Gloria had the biggest and kindest heart. She could never do enough for her family and friends.

Gloria is preceded by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ernest "Skip" J. Trimmer (2007), her parents, Ada and Russell Green, her stepmother, Frances Green, and brother, Russell Green.

Surviving are her dear sons, Jim Trimmer (Judy), of Hillsborough, NJ; Eric Trimmer of Belleville, NJ; and loving daughter, Patti Reilley of Manville, NJ; two brothers, Arthur Green of Lutz, FL; and Kenneth Green (companion Ruth Scott), of Ft. Myers, FL; five cherished grandchildren, Melissa Reilley-Grecco (Todd), Jill Reilley (Chad), Brian Trimmer (Christine), Kyle Trimmer (fiancé Hailey Kirsch), Stacy Trimmer, and one adored great-granddaughter, Reilley Tate.
