Gerasimos Ballas Raritan, NJ Gerasimos Ballas, 83, of Raritan, NJ, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center Somerset. He was born June 8, 1936 in Arginia, Cephalonia, Greece. He served honorably in the Greek Army prior to moving to the United States. He resided in Middlesex, NJ for approximately 25 years before moving to Raritan. Prior to retiring, he was the owner of Ballas Painting. He enjoyed gardening and watching Greek television. Spending quality time with his family is what meant most to him. He was a strong man with the kindest and most gentle heart. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Ballas, of 50 years, parents Sokratis and Genovefa, brothers Dionissis, Panagiotis, Aristostelis and sister Dionissia Surviving are his loving children Sokratis Ballas and Dionysia "Denise" Schallenberger and husband Hank Schallenberger, Jr of Raritan, NJ; cherished granddaughter, Madison, step-grandsons Christopher and Nicholas and step-great granddaughter, Nora Funeral services are private.
