Gerald "Jerry" Zappa, 83, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 at RWJ Hospital in Somerville with family by his side. Born in Newark, NJ, Jerry resided in Irvington before moving to Branchburg 57 years ago.

Jerry graduated from Archbishop Walsh High School. He then went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Communications from Seton Hall University.

After college, Jerry worked in the electronics industry and family business. He then went on to work for Ethicon for more than 25 years in Operations and Human Resources until his retirement in 2001.

During his free time, Jerry enjoyed gardening, taking care of his prized house plants, and was an avid movie fan. He was a true handyman who would fix just about anything to help friends and family. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending precious time with his children and grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Vivian and Joseph Zappa.

Surviving are his loving wife, Palma "Pam" Cozza Zappa, two dear sons, Mark and wife Johanna Zappa, Eric and wife Jennie Zappa, three brothers, Vito Zappa, Joseph Zappa, and Robert Zappa, and four adored grandchildren, Eddie, Sam, Dori, and Victoria.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 3-7pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.

Funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 10am at St. Ann's R.C. Church in Raritan.
