George Ulassin
Lake Ariel, PA
George Ulassin, 90, of Lake Ariel, PA, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. Born in Homestead, PA George resided in Branchburg for 55 years before retiring to Lake Ariel, PA.
George received his bachelor's degree from University of Pittsburg where he was awarded a full scholarship for his exceptional wrestling talent, where he proudly won the state championship. He continued his education and completed his master's degree at Steven's Institute of Technology. Following his education, George served his country in the United States Army Reserves from 1956 to 1962.
During his free time, George loved to golf. When he was not golfing, watching Fox News or cheering for his Steelers to win, you could always find George surrounded by his family, as they meant the most to him. His most cherished moments were the time spent with his family and friends at their cabin in the Poconos boating on Lake Wallenpaupack and playing Gotcha late into the night. His deep faith guided him throughout life; George served as an extraordinary minister at Holy Trinity Church in Bridgewater NJ, for many years, bringing communion and comfort to parishioners.
George and his devoted wife, Gay, opened their hearts and home to many children from orphanages, giving them weekends filled with love and the joy of family life and a chance to enjoy country living. He believed in caring for others as much as he cared for himself, maintaining his health through constant exercise, vitamins, and holistic practices.
Above all, George cherished his family. Time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was his greatest joy. His legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on in all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Mary and George Ulassin, and his brother Michael Ulassin.
Surviving are his loving wife, Gay Ulassin, four dear sons, Brian and wife Candy Ulassin of Katie, TX; David and wife Judy Ulassin of Branchburg, NJ; Mark and wife Kim Ulassin of Flemington, NJ; Michael Ulassin of East Brunswick, NJ; two loving daughters, Vicky and husband Bill Scherer of Illion, NY; Alma Segarra-Ulassin of Daytona Beach, FL; 21 cherished grandchildren, James, Joyce, Will, Jack, Kyle, Justin, Brandon, Kristen, Joshua, Ron, Nicholas, Jonathan, Catherine, Matthew, Stephen, Georgia, Joseph, Michael, Patrick, Gwen, and Holly and Melanie. 24 great grandchildren, Blake, Gianna, Caleb, Mateo, Willie, Olivia, Emma, Wyatt, Eli, Maeve, Eleanor, Alice, Arza, Amber, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Declan, Owen, Ryan, Dylan, Ella Mae, Sophia, Jack and Thomas.
