George W. " Bill" Clarkson Jr.

George W. "Bill" Clarkson Jr., 79, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Plainfield, NJ, George resided in North Plainfield for 8 years before moving to Branchburg 50 years ago.

George graduated from Plainfield High School, Class of 1961. After graduating, George went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1965 to 1970. Shortly after, Bill took over his family business in Whitehouse Station, Clarkson & Foreman, Inc for 50 plus years before retiring in 2019.

George, also known to many family and friends as Bill was a member and past president of the Central Jersey Corvette Club. He was an avid car collector, enjoyed taking various cruises and playing golf. Mr. Clarkson was a supporter for St. Jude, Wounded Warrior Project, and Tomorrows Children Fund. Most importantly, Bill enjoyed spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Anne and George W. Clarkson Sr., his loving wife, Joan Rutkiewiecz Clarkson (2022), and a sister, Judith Clarkson.

Surviving are his dear son, Jerry Clarkson of Branchburg, NJ; two loving daughters, Christine and husband Anthony Confortini of Califon, NJ; Cindy and husband Craig Rock of St. Augustine, FL; and six cherished grandchildren, Ryleigh, Brooke, Skyler, Tanner, Jake, and Avery.
