George Steven Byelick passed away on March 19th, at the age of 79. He was born on September 17, 1943, in Plainfield, NJ.
George never met a stranger, anyone who knew him, immediately took a liking to him. George will be dearly missed and forever loved by so many who knew him and mostly by his family! His laugh and sense of humor was infectious. His demeanor was calm, collected, sensible and with a positive attitude. He was always available to lend a helping hand, whenever needed and by whomever the request came from.
George and Alice shared in the joy of having 20 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. George also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family. George spent most of his life in NJ & 41 years working at Ferris Bros. Wholesale Florist in Middlesex, NJ, before retiring and moving to Auburn, PA.
George enjoyed a leisurely visit to the casinos, playing poker online, golfing and back in the day Country Line Dancing with friends; if he wasn't busy tinkering with some project in the house or in the yard.
George was predeceased by his parents, George Byelick and Jean Veglatte.
George leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Alice Byelick. They would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on May 17th of this year. He also leaves behind 3 siblings, sister, Maryann & husband, Butch Ames, brother, Michael & wife, Diana Byelick and Sister Sandi Byelick.
George had two children from his previous marriage; a daughter, Laura Palatino and a son, Christopher & wife, Christine Byelick. George also had four stepsons, Harry Janner, Robert Janner, Gordon Janner and David Janner. Along with three stepdaughters, Cathleen Janner DeWitt, Shari-Jo Janner, Vickie and husband, Don Farnsworth.
George, (Husband, Brother, Dad, Pop-pop, Uncle, Friend) Your Wings were ready, but our Hearts were not! Rest in eternal peace, until we meet again! Forever loved and never forgotten!
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 12pm-4pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. A service will begin at the funeral home at 3:30pm.
Instead of flowers, the family please ask that you order plants or dish gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made in George's memory to honor his grandson, DJ Janner to: St. Joseph's Center 2010 Adams Ave Scranton, PA 18509.
