Fred Taras

Fred Taras, 87, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at RWJ Hospital in Somerville. Born in New York, New York, Fred resided in Union for 30 years before settling in Bridgewater.

Fred received his Bachelor's Degree from Hunter College in Bronx, New York. Upon graduating, Fred went on to become an Insurance Underwriter before his retirement in 2006.

During his free time, Fred enjoyed traveling, gardening and dancing. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Stella and Joseph Taras and his brother Stanley Taras.

Surviving are his loving wife, Irene J. Taras, his dear son Steven Taras and partner Genata Carol and cherished daughter, Laura Taras.

A viewing will be held on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876 with a prayer service beginning at 12:30pm.
