Frank S. Benna , 89, died Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Raritan Health and Extended Care in Raritan. Born in North Bergen, he resided there most of his life until moving to Bridgewater nine years ago. Mr. Benna served in the United States Army World War II, D-Day Plus One. He was the owner/operator of Rochette Embroider Company, North Bergen, for 45 years until retiring in 1981. Frank was a former member of the North Bergen V.F.W. Post #2648 and is a current member of the Bridgewater V.F.W. Post #12. He ran the North Bergen Recreation Department for 49 years and on two occasions won the National Championship for Biddy Basketball. Frank was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his beloved wife of 59 years, Amelia Colletta Benna, his two cherished sons, Steven and wife, Linda of Pewaukee, WI and Frank and wife, Susan of Oakland, his six grandchildren, Natalie, Andrea, Lauren, Allison, Steven and Brooke Lynne and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin with a prayer on Saturday at 9:15 AM at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ, 08876 (908) 526-7638. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 10 AM at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 60 Maple Street, Bridgewater. Visitation hours are Friday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9PM at the funeral home.
