Obituary

Francis C. O'Reilly Jr.

Branchburg, NJ

Francis C. O'Reilly Jr., 76, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Manhattan, NY, Frank resided in Bloomingdale, NJ for 37 years prior to moving to Branchburg, NJ.

Frank served our country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Shortly after, he attended The City College of New York where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and then went onto Brooklyn Polytechnic where he received his Master's Degree in Computer Science. Throughout his career, Frank worked for many interesting companies in the NY metro area such as Loral Electronics and Dialogic before his tenure at Crestron Electronics in Rockleigh NJ.

Frank loved to remain very active, whether it was being involved in his community, general tinkering in his garage, devouring novels as an avid reader or taking part in his all-time favorite hobby, skiing. While raising his children in Bloomingdale he not only coached but was president of the Butler Soccer Club, coached Tri-Boro Little League and proudly ran the town ski program for 13 years - thus fostering a love of winter snow sports for many new generations. In addition, Frank also served as the Chairperson to the Environmental Commission in Bloomingdale.

Frank wore many hats in his life but his favorite was father and adoring grandfather. As a grandfather, better known as "Franky" to his girls, his curious nature for all things big and small shined as he led adventurous explorations for his two cherished granddaughters, Maya and Lilly.

He is predeceased by his beloved parents, Patricia and Francis C. O'Reilly Sr., Robert Collins, Michael McCarren and Timothy McCarren.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 51 years, Barbara Wagner O'Reilly, his son, Kevin O'Reilly of Highland Lakes, NJ; his daughter, Megan and husband Max Stephanchenko and their daughters, Maya and Lilly of Branchburg, NJ; his brother, James and wife Kathleen O'Reilly of Brewster, NY; along with best friend of 70 years Joe Compel of Pompton Lakes, NJ.

The O'Reilly family kindly requests that memorial donations in Franks memory be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer https://lustgarten.org/
