Francis D. McLaughlin Flemington, NJ Frank D. McLaughlin, 90, of Flemington, NJ passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Born in Queens, NY, Frank resided in Astoria for most of his early life before moving to Spring Lake Heights, NJ 35 years ago. Frank spent most of his career as a New York Police Detective and after his retirement, he worked in a security position with Merrill Lynch. Frank served honorably in the Navy during the Korean War and was an active Veteran; Frank was also a member of the Elks and participated in various volunteer opportunities. He was an avid walker, enjoying banter with friends he met along the way. He was known for his keen sense of humor, friendly smile and willingness to lend a helping hand when needed. Frank is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Francis and Marion McLaughlin, and his sister Margaret. Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years, Helen Sullivan McLaughlin, family members Jim and Pat Sullivan, John and Jean Frey, and many loving and supportive neighbors and friends. A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 10am-11am at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 RT. 202 South Branchburg, NJ 08876. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home at 11am. Entombment will follow at St. Anne's Cemetery in Wall, NJ.
