Obituary

Francis A. McGinn Neshanic Station, NJ Francis Aloysius McGinn, 93, of Neshanic Station, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born and raised on Staten Island, NY. He lived there with his wife and family until 1978, when they moved to Bridgewater, NJ. He resided in Bridgewater for 24 years before moving to Neshanic Station, NJ 20 years ago. Frank graduated from the Augustinian Academy on Staten Island in 1947. He then went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry from St. Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ. After graduating college, Frank enlisted in the United States Army and served on the front lines in Korea from 1951-1954. Frank served with the 180th Regiment of the 45th Division and received the Korean War Service Medal with 3 Bronze stars. He also received the United Nations Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge. After returning to the states, Frank received his Master's Degree in Chemistry from New York University (NYU). Frank worked for various companies throughout his career as a Chemical Engineer: Stauffer Chemical, Bristol Meyers Squibb, and Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, from which he retired in 1994. He also taught chemistry at the college level. Frank was a devout Catholic and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville, NJ for many years and later was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Three Bridges. Frank was a member of the Somerville Elks Lodge #1068 and the American Legion Post #12. He worked as a bartender and bar manager of the Somerville Elks Lodge for 22 years. He was an avid bowler and golfer. Frank enjoyed going on trips to Atlantic City with his wife, Genevieve, and was a horseplayer at the Monmouth Race Track. He was a collector of coins and stamps and was a sports fan of all the NY teams, especially the NY Giants. The one thing Frank enjoyed most was spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Genevieve A. McEvaddy McGinn (2006), his parents, Catherine and Aloysius T. McGinn, and his sister Kathleen O'Connor. Surviving are his one dear son, David F. McGinn of Neshanic Station, NJ; three loving daughters, Maryanne McGinn of West New York, NJ; Carolyn and husband Gary Girvan of Neshanic Station, NJ; Susan and husband Peter Lombardo of Westfield, NJ; one sister, Mary Jane Duffy of Tinton Falls, NJ; and four cherished grandchildren, Genevieve, Joseph, Chloe, and Anthony, many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Monday, August 8, 2022 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home at 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church at 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ 08887.
