Francis R."Butch" Gannone Sr.

Francis R. Gannone, 82, of Bound Brook, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at RWJ Hospital in Somerville. Born and raised in Bound Brook, Francis spent most of his life there.

Butch graduated from Bound Brook High School, Class of 1958. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years.

Shortly after, Butch worked as a carpenter for Carpenter Local 455 in Somerville for 30 plus years before his retirement in 1997. He was also a member of the Carpenter's Local 455.

Butch was a member of the Bound Brook Elks, a former member of the Bound Brook Moose Club, the Bridgewater Eagles, Somerville American Legion Post 12, and the Manville Seniors Club.

Mr. Gannone enjoyed fresh water fishing, hunting, playing golf, taking trips to Atlantic City and Pennsylvania. He was also an avid Yankees and Giants fan. Butch loved to cook, especially spaghetti sauce and all types of soups. Most importantly, he enjoyed making people laugh and spending quality time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Emelia and Lawrence Gannone, two brothers, Lawrence Gannone, Robert "Bobby" Gannone, a sister, Marie Chernesky, a grandson Richard, nephews, Thomas and Ray Nemeth, and brother in laws, Robert Chernesky and Raymond Nemeth.

Surviving are his loving wife, Jill Knowlton Gannone, two dear sons, Walter and wife Patty Gannone of Bayville, NJ; Francis "Butch Jr". Gannone of Rahway, NJ; a daughter, Debbie Gannone of Easton, PA; a sister, Ernestine Nemeth of Branchburg, NJ; seven cherished grandchildren, Frank Jr., Brandi, Ashley, Melissa, Jessica, Christen, and Melanie and four adored great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
