FELIPE A. SUAREZ, born on February 05, 1930 passed away on November 19, 2025 at age 95 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was predeceased in 2017 by his beloved wife of 60 years, Violeta Q. Suarez, she was 83, and beloved third child, a son, Lionel Q. Suarez, he was 52.

Felipe is survived by his three children, daughter Pinky S. Derequito (and Jose), from the Philippines, son Florante A. Suarez from the Philippines, daughter-in-law Maria Teresa Suarez from New Jersey, and youngest child, daughter Melody S. Bustos from New Jersey and by his son-in-law Efren Bustos and Mark Gibbons

Felipe is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Allen S. Derequito (and Ehra), Lara D. Cruz (and Jorge), Kyle Daniel Suarez, Camille D. Suarez, Alden S. Bustos (and Lauren) and Regina Belle S. Bustos. Felipe is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, Cassidy Derequito and Bailey Ava Derequito.

Philip as he is fondly remembered, retired at the age of 72, as a Bank Examiner from the Federal State of New York, Banking Department, in New York, NY.

He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of the East, Manila Philippines, on May 25, 1954. And in 1963, he was one of the 476 who passed the Certified Public Accountancy Board Exam out of 3,960 exam takers.

Prior to migrating to the USA, Philip excelled as a Supervising Bank Examiner from the Central Bank of the Philippines. In September 1978, he was announced as the topnotcher of the Central Bank of the Philippines' examination on Trust Operations and Regulations and thus recommended to be sent to the United States for training in Foreign Trust Program.

In 1977, Felipe successfully earned the degree of Master of Business Administration from Manuel Luis Quezon University in the Philippines. And while working at Central Bank of the Philippines, Felipe worked part time at the university. He was a member of faculty from 1976 to 1981 and taught Finance.

In 1983, Philip migrated to the United States. He worked for 2 years at Overseas Union Bank in New York, NY. And in 1986, he started in his last job, as Bank Examiner, for the Federal State of New York, Banking Department.

Outside work, Philip enjoyed bowling and participated in bowling leagues both in the Philippines and in Jersey City, NJ.

During his retirement years, Philip took pride of his job from the Central Bank of the Philippines which he fondly spoke of as "bank of banks in the Philippines"

Felipe lived a humble life in the United States so that he may give. He gave and gave very generously to his family and relatives and to those who are in need in the Philippines. And gave even more to his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and children-in-law. His generosities were felt near and far; his countless deeds of kindness experienced by many and his words of wisdom touched many lives.

Philip instilled in his family the value of education; earn your wants through hard and honest work and living life honestly.

Felipe's stories of yesteryears spanning decades that made us laugh and cry will be remembered.

The man with a golden heart big enough for everyone had left but his legacy lives on.

Family, relatives and friends are welcome at his viewing on Saturday, November 29, 3pm to 7pm and Sunday, November 30, 2pm to 6pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 S., Branchburg, NJ 08876.

Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 10am at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church 500 US HWY 22, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.

Interment to follow at Holy Cross Burial Park 840 Cranbury South River Road, East Brunswick (Jamesburg), NJ.
