Evon Joy Laing , 80, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington. Born in Kingaroy, Australia, Joy resided in England before moving to the United States when she was 24 years old. She then resided in Short Hills, moving to Flemington ten years ago. Ms. Laing was a Registered Nurse and worked for Orange Memorial Hospital until retiring in 2002. Joy enjoyed reading and was an avid traveler. She enjoyed many trips back to England, Scotland, and Ireland. Joy was preceded in death by her beloved parents and siblings. Surviving are her cherished nieces and nephews, Ian Quirk, New South Wales, AU, Cheryl Arentz, Queensland, AU, Leanne Quirk, New South Wales, AU, and Rhea McDonald of New South Wales, AU; and her dear friend, Dot Piszkowski. A Prayer Service will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 30, 2010 at Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876 (908) 526-7638 preceded by a viewing from 9 to 10 am.
