Eunice E. Kaplan

Eunice E. Kaplan, 88, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Born in Plainfield, NJ, Eunice spent most of her life in Branchburg.

Eunice received her Associates degree from Raritan Valley Community College in Nursing. Shortly after, Eunice started working for RWJ Hospital in Somerville, formally known as Somerset Medical Center for 40 years. After retirement she worked as an office nurse for a local MD until the age of 78.

She was a member of the retired nurses association and the 4-H. Eunice was active in her church, Calvary Bible, and for many years taught Bible Classes. Eunice was an avid quilter and reader. She always knitted clothes for others and helped foster babies. Most importantly, Eunice enjoyed spending quality time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Edith and William Bechtle, her dear husband, Stanley Kaplan (2001), her daughter, Elaine Mary Ruiz (Kaplan) and a sister, Katherine Mead.

Surviving are her two dear sons, Steven and wife Cathy Kaplan of Whitehouse Station, NJ; William and wife Sonja Kaplan of Branchburg, NJ; her loving daughter, Susan Kaplan of South Plainfield, NJ; two brothers, Samuel and Lois Bechtle of Nashville, TN; James Bechtle of Brick, NJ; a sister, Edith Yerick of Brick, NJ; seven cherished grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Alaina, Daniel, Amanda, Lauren, and Steve Jr., and six adored great grandchildren, Noah, Thaddeus, Jeremiah, Elbi, Colton and Rylan.

A celebration of life will be held on June 24, 2023 at the Calvary Bible Church 144 Readington Road Whitehouse Station, NJ 08889. Repast will be at the Readington Fire House.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Calvary Bible Church which will be designated for mission works.
