Emanuele Balliro

Emanuele Balliro, 91, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Licodia Eubea (Sicily), Italy, Emanuele immigrated to the United States on October 2, 1976.

After coming to the United States, Emanuele worked more than 10 years as a machinist for Colorguard Fence Corporation and his last years of employment before retiring worked in the maintenance facility for Zeus Industrial.

Emanuele was an avid gardener. He loved tending and proudly taking care of his garden and fig trees. During the summer, you could always find Emanuele planting many vegetables, basil, zucchini, and especially tomatoes that he would make jars of sauce with the help of his loving wife to use for Sunday pasta dinners with his family. He also made homemade wine, which he enjoyed drinking during family dinners. He loved making espresso for family and friends, and enjoyed watching soccer games that were aired and played in Italy. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending quality time with his family and two grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his beloved and dear grandson, Nicholas J. Balliro.

Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Raffaela Balliro, three dear sons, Santo and wife Dawn Balliro of Bridgewater, NJ; Carmelo and wife Francesca Balliro of Hamilton Square, NJ; Sebastiano Balliro of Bridgewater, NJ; and one adored grandson, Anthony S. Balliro. He is also survived by a sister, Santina Brullo, and brother, Salvatore Balliro, of Montreal, Canada.

A viewing will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 3-7 pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.

A prayer service will begin at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 9:15 am. Funeral mass will take place at Holy Trinity Church at 10 am in Bridgewater, NJ. Entombment is private.
