Elizabeth C. Swody Branchburg, NJ Elizabeth "Betty" Swody, 99, of Branchburg, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at All American Assisted Living. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Betty resided in Green brook for 33 years before moving to Branchburg 15 years ago. Elizabeth graduated from St. Mary's High School in Elizabeth, NJ. Betty was the President of St. Catherine's Rosary Society for two years. She also was a Girl Scout leader. Betty volunteered at the Raritan Valley Hospital and Green Brook Nursing home for two years. Elizabeth was an avid cook, enjoyed gardening and cruising with her late husband. The one thing Betty enjoyed the most was spending quality time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Helen and Harold Schindler, her loving husband of 80 years, Charles R. Swody (2021), and two sisters, Dorothy Szlama and Evelyn Cure. Surviving are her dear son Charles and wife Kathy Swody of Rahway, NJ; one loving daughter Pam and husband Mark Ansbro of Branchburg, NJ; a Niece Sandra and husband John Bottigliero of Toms River, NJ; three cherished grandchildren, Cheryl, Charles, Robert, adored four great grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Nicholas, Brielle, and five great great grandchildren. Viewing and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
