Elizabeth Schweighardt, 80, of Bridgewater, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 14, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center. Born in Long Branch, NJ, Elizabeth later resided in Bridgewater for over 40 years.

Betty was a dedicated teacher at Bridgewater Middle School for over 35 years, where she truly enjoyed working with and teaching her students.

She was a proud mother and Nana to four boys and ten grandchildren. Betty loved spending time with family, being outdoors, attending church, cheering on her beloved Mets, socializing with her neighbors and friends, and watching her grandchildren's sporting events. She had a strong passion for helping dogs, especially senior ones with needs. As a devoted member to her anonymous support group, she was always willing to open her heart and home to anyone in need.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Mary and Frederick Wright, and her sister Connie Reid.

She is survived by her four loving sons, Frank and his wife Kirsten, Fred and his wife Stephanie, Jim and his partner Cheryl, and Jeff and his wife Samantha; as well as her ten cherished grandchildren, Caeli, Alex, Ryder, Evan, Lily, Max, Olivia, Austin, Owen, and Jaxon.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 4pm-8pm at the Branchburg Funeral Home, 910 Rt. 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876. A short prayer service will follow at 6:30pm followed by some words from family and friends. Please feel free to come casually dressed and any Mets attire is welcome. Committal is private.
